"GM by Gabriel Meffre" - New clothes for our Côtes de Provence

The packaging of our Côtes de Provence Rosé has been completely revamped. On this highly competitive market where packaging is a key element of success, this new label demonstrates the innovative & creative spirit behind the Gabriel Meffre Winery.  The new vintage has been presented at the VINISUD fair and has alrady received positive feedback from wine professionals.

A modern & premium packaging
The Côtes de Provence “GM par Gabriel Meffre” is available in Jeroboam (3lt), Magnum (1.5lt), 75cl & 37.5cl. The label and capsule are taup-coloured to contrast with the delicate pink color of the wine. The “GM” logo is diamond-relief embossed in a bright, metallic rosé.  The illustration evokes the Mediterranean sun in a firework  shape, hinting at the explosive aromas of this new vintage.

Côtes de Provence :  historically in the portfolio of the winery
Although the Gabriel Meffre Winery has its roots in the Rhône Valley since 1936, a connection to the Côtes de Provence region dates back to the early ‘60s. A close collaborator of Gabriel Meffre – from the Var area, the heart of the Côtes de Provence – persuaded him to invest in the region, convinced that wine and tourism would play a great part in its development. 50 years later, our Côtes de Provence “GM par Gabriel Meffre” pays tribute to this insight!

The vines are located around the base of the Mont Saint Victoire, near the lovely city of Aix-en-Provence. This imposing mountain protects the vines from the Mistral wind and harsch winter conditions.  Grenache and Syrah grow on clay and limestone soils on “espaliers” or terraces. They benefit from a Mediterranean climate, tempered by an altitude of 300 meters. Harvesting takes place early in the morning, while temperatures are cool and the grapes still fresh. After a short pre-fermentation soak (3 to 6 hours), the juices are racked off, blended and fermented. Each variety is vinified individually at low temperature to favour lively floral and fruit aromas. Bottling took place in early January 2017.
