Domaine de longue toque in gigondas goes organic & develops specific agri-environmental measures

Domaine de Longue Toque - 27ha (67 acres) in AOP Gigondas, Vacqueyras & Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu – has been owned by Maison Gabriel Meffre since 1999. From the very beginning, the estate has been managed under the principles of "sustainable viticulture" to significantly reduce the global impact on the environment.
10 years were necessary to upgrade and renew the vineyards in order to produce high-quality wines. The estate is certified “Terra Vitis – sustainable viticulture” since 2001. As of Spring 2017, a new qualitative step is undertaken: Domaine de Longue Toque begins its organic conversion.

Ideal climatic conditions until the end of the harvest

After a mild and dry winter, a srping without frost and a particularly hot summer, harvesting began several days later than 2015, with the white & rosé varieties being picked late August/early September. During the harvest, weather conditions were truly exceptional, with warm, clear days, fresh...
