Of the 27 ha. of the Domaine de Longue Toque, 2 ha. are in the AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu. On this plateau, situated between Orange, Violès and Camaret, the vineyards are spread out on an alluvial terrace dating from the “Quaternary” period (recent to 2.6 million years ago), composed of clay and limestone pebbles. Grenache and Syrah grapes planted in this terroir produce rich and spicy wines.
Deep terrace of ancient alluvium covered with pebbles, lying on a silty matrix formed by the Aygue river in the North and the Ouvèze river in the South. A soil favourable to the development of rich and intense wines.
Dark color with purple highlights. Intense nose with black olive aromas (tapenade). Smooth palate with firm tannins evolving into notes of anise and liquorice ending with a long peppery finish.
Serve cool - 16 to 18°C (60°to 65°F), ideally decanted 2 to 3 hours before.

A terroir of round pebbles, very close to that of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which started again to produce wines thanks to the work and efforts of Mr Gabriel Meffre in the 50s.
