Born during the 3rd century in Spain, Saint Vincent has been considered as the patron saint of winegrowers ever since the Frankish King Childebert brought back his tunic from Saragossa, the Spanish town of which he was Deacon. Several reasons can explain this choice, the simplest being the presence of the French word for wine (‘vin’) in his name. And given that Vincent means ‘triumphant’ in Latin, the choice of this name for our wine needs no further explanation!
