Vintage

This year, the harvest was later. As everywhere else, the June heat wave and the summer drought are related to the lower yields. Fortunately, quality was not affected. Finally, the storms in July and August let the grapes reach their optimum ripeness. This rainfall did not make up for the drought, which resulted in smaller berries with intense aromas.

Grape varieties

50% Grenache, 50% Syrah

Terroir

Grenache et Syrah vineyards grow on two parcels (“Les Roques” and “Fontbonne”) on clay-limestone soils, located in Sarrians and Vacqueyras.

Winemaking

Vinification and maturation with no suphiltes added, in a “primeur” style : not much assembly, short fermentation and fast devatting to keep a pure fruit.
