Syrah - Collines Rhodaniennes

Indication géographique protégée

The Protected Geographical Indication "Collines Rhodaniennes" covers 96 communes, from the Drôme to the south of Lyon, in the heart of the northern Rhône Valley.

Sainte Blandine
In the northern Rhône Valley, the clippers came out around the 20th of September. Following a rather warm start to the spring, temperatures dropped and remained below seasonal averages until the beginning of summer. The vines then faced high temperatures in July and August. Thankfully, rain arrived at the beginning of the harvests, ensuring both quantity and quality for all of our appellations.

Syrah - Collines Rhodaniennes

100% Syrah

The territory of the IGP Collines Rhodanienne covers around 670 hectares in the northern Rhône region and is spread over a large area reaching from just north of the town of Vienne to over 100km south along the Rhône River. The zone is equally divided east and west of the Rhône. The soils are mostly limestone-rich and fractured granite and the Syrah from this regional appellation produces excellent value wines.

Traditional winemaking in vats : pumping over, rack-and-return and maceration.

Note de dégustation:

"Coming from the Northern Rhône, the 2019 Syrah Saint-Blandine has a pretty bouquet of ripe blueberries and black raspberries intermixed with plenty of peppery herbs and violets. Medium to full-bodied, with plenty of fruit and a ripe, opulent style, this smoking 2019 Syrah will offer pleasure over the coming 7-8 years." Jeb Dunnuck, october 2020

Service & accords:

Ready to drink, serve it between 14 to 16°C.
Open it one hour before tasting.
It pairs nicely with a Lyonnaise-style Onion Soup and grilled saussages.

Sainte-Blandine is the patron saint of the city of Lyon, often represented with a lion and a bear at her feet.
