Tasting“Coming from the Northern Rhône, the 2019 Syrah Saint-Blandine has a pretty bouquet of ripe blueberries and black raspberries intermixed with plenty of peppery herbs and violets. Medium to full-bodied, with plenty of fruit and a ripe, opulent style, this smoking 2019 Syrah will offer pleasure over the coming 7-8 years.” Jeb Dunnuck, october 2020

Detailed information
Vintage
In the northern Rhône Valley, the clippers came out around the 20th of September. Following a rather warm start to the spring, temperatures dropped and remained below seasonal averages until the beginning of summer. The vines then faced high temperatures in July and August. Thankfully, rain arrived at the beginning of the harvests, ensuring both quantity and quality for all of our appellations.
Grape varieties
Syrah
Terroir
The territory of the IGP Collines Rhodanienne covers around 670 hectares in the northern Rhône region and is spread over a large area reaching from just north of the town of Vienne to over 100km south along the Rhône River. The zone is equally divided east and west of the Rhône. The soils are mostly limestone-rich and fractured granite and the Syrah from this regional appellation produces excellent value wines.
Winemaking
Traditional winemaking in vats : pumping over, rack-and-return and maceration.

Gabriel Meffre
Delicious and savoury from day one: this is the commitment of our Gabriel Meffre "signature" wines. For each appellation, and in keeping with the characteristics of the vintage, our know-how is recognisable through our experienced blending of "terroirs" and grape varieties and through our careful maturing, favouring purity of fruit and silkyness of texture. Already enjoyable in their first year after bottling, the Crus also have good aging potential.
