Tasting

Garnet red colour. The nose opens with aromas of elderflower and Burlat cherry, with a hint of vanilla from the oak ageing. The palate is complex, firm and lively. The finish is spicy and flavourful. (Tasting July 2025).

Vintage

In the Northern Rhône Valley, this 2023 vintage stands out for its remarkable balance, natural freshness and fine expression of terroirs. After a wet spring favourable to the vines, the summer was warm but not excessively so, with cool nights at the end of the season, ideal for preserving acidity and refining ripeness. As a result, the reds are showing great aromatic finesse, while the whites are revealing freshness combined with an elegant mineral structure. All in all, the 2023 vintage is proving to be a high-quality, charming vintage in the northern Rhône Valley.

Grape varieties

Syrah

Terroir

The grapes are sourced in the eastern part of the famous Hermitage hill. Vines are located in different areas:
– “la Pierrelle”, terraces of alluvial soils covered with small pebbles at 180/200m in altitude, south-west exposure,
– “les Murets”, clay soil at 150m in altitude,
– “les Diognières”, clay soil, on gentler slope,
– “la Beaume”, sandy-stony brown soil, eastern exposure, between 120 and 180m in altitude.

Winemaking

Fully hand-picked from mid-September 2023, in the very early morning to enhance aromas and preserve all the freshness. Grapes were fully destemmed and fermented at controlled temperature (22-24°C) during 24 days. The wine was then placed in 275-liter Laurus barrels before the malolactic fermentation (malic acid into the softer lactic acid) and aged on the fine lees for 20 months before bottling.
Bottled on 26th May 2025. 1,366 bottles and 30 magnums produced.
