This year, our Winery has switched the lighting in most of its buildings over to LEDs. The aim was twofold: to save energy and to improve the quality of our lighting. This action comes under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
We are continuing our series of profiles on the women in our winery with that of Yash Ghienne, who holds a senior position in our Export Sales department. Yash was more than happy to answer our questions!
In a purportedly male-dominated industry, our winery’s workforce is 53% female. We thought it would be interesting to publish a series of profiles to introduce some of the women in our business to you. Audrey Chaufournier—QSE Manager and lead coordinator of our CSR strategy—gave a moment of her valuable time to answer some of our questions.
A black grape originating from Spain where it is known as Monastrell, Mourvèdre all but disappeared after the Great French Wine Blight in the second half of the 19th century despite the swathes of plantings across the Mediterranean region. Known for its small and irregular yield, the variety is a popular crop once more, demanding gentle viticultural practices. In blends, it lends character to wines from the Rhône Valley.
Following its acquisition of 11ha of vines in Cairanne, the Gabriel Meffre Winery, established in Gigondas since 1936, is strengthening its foothold in the Rhône Valley and now proudly owns & manages 90ha of vines.

For the past 10 years, our winery has been constantly researching ways to improve our packaging from an ecodesign perspective, a proactive decision that now forms part of our CSR strategy. As one of the first businesses in the industry and the region looking to manufacture lighter customised emblazoned bottles, today we are extending our approach to other lines.
Summer is the season when fish and seafood dishes are best enjoyed. With varying degrees of saltiness and strength of flavour, and eaten “au naturel” or cooked, each seafood dish is best married with certain types of wine. We would like to share with you some of our favourite pairings!
Rosé and white wines are of course very popular when the weather is hot. However, this certainly does not mean that lovers of red wine can’t continue to enjoy their favourite tipple over the summer period! We suggest four red wines to surprise your taste buds this summer. Because red wine can be enjoyed at any time of the year !
